Wedding photography

Hi I'm Jacob and I'm a photographer from South Wales. Taking photographs just started out as a hobby for me but it quickly transpired into something more. I found through experimenting with different aspects of photography that what I just loved more than anything else was taking photographs of people and capturing real emotions. A wedding day produces so many emotions and I love being there to capture and present them to you.

I, like many people have never really liked looking at the camera. That's why I decided to to down the route of photojournalism. I rarely ask anyone to look at the camera on a wedding day as I like to try to blend in with the surroundings and capture the day as it naturally passes. That being said, I have absolutely no issue if someone wants to ask me to take a photo of them. I'm there for your day and I will work to capture it as in the best way possible. I feel that you can always tell the difference between a real smile and when someone is posing for a photo - the real emotion always shines through.

Great Exposure Photography Competition
winner

Before photographing weddings, I really enjoyed experimenting with different styles of photography which led me to capture this image in Brynamman. It was chosen as one of the winners of the Great Exposure Photography Competition. This was a competition set up by the GREAT Britain Campaign, celebrating the UK’s rich cultural diversity and innovative, welcoming spirit. This image is on display at Heathrow airport with the chosen winners. If you pass through Heathrow Airport and see it, I would love to see, so tag me on your pages - @jacobmcdonaldphotography.
